England vs India: Can India continue its winning momentum?

India take on England at the Rose Bowl in the third test of the series. With India recording a historic first win at the Lord’s after 28 long years, surely the mood in the Indian camp cannot be better than this. Thus, the pressure will be on England to find some form and they will be desperate to reverse their shocking recent form.

It was an enormously demoralizing defeat for England at the Lord’s, with their batting a real concern ahead of this match. Their captain and talisman, Alastair Cook has continued to struggle with the bat and none of the other batsmen have been able to impose themselves on the Indian bowlers. Their bowling attack has also not looked threatening enough and they need to step up their efforts if they mean to dismantle the Indian batting. With Matt Prior not fully fit, Jos Buttler will make his Test debut for England while Chris Jordan might get a look in instead of Ben Stokes.

Meanwhile, having won away at Lord’s for just the second time, India are riding the crest of a wave and the only dampener for them so far in this series has been the ongoing controversy surrounding an altercation between Ravindra Jadeja and James Anderson which had resulted in the Indian being fined 50 percent of his match fees. The Indian bowlers, in particular Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, have been a revelation so far in this series and the Indian supporters would be hoping that they continue their excellent form with the ball. India are likely to bring Rohit Sharma into their playing eleven at the expense of Stuart Binny.
