Pravin Tambe : Tale of determination and passion

Not long ago, Pravin Tambe was liaison manager for the Deccan Chargers and Pune Warriors Ipl team. Pravin Tambe was 41 when he made his debut in an Ipl match for Rajasthan Royals. That surely isn’t an ideal age to start a cricket career! He beat all the odds and got selection into the Rajasthan Royals Ipl team. Before Rajasthan signed him, the spark in his cricketing career came when he found his name in the Mumbai one - day squad owing to his superlative performances in club cricket. He didn’t get a single chance to prove himself, but then came the spark of luck. Rajasthan Royals took good notice of the leg spinner and called him for the Ipl trials. The coaches at Rajasthan Royals were pretty impressed by the leg-spinner and gave him a contract.

To quote Rocky Balboa "It ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! "

Pravin Tambe’s story is similar to this quote - he had been a club cricketer all his life, devoted his life to cricket. He was part of a staff at D.Y Patil Stadium just to witness the beautiful gentleman’s game so close. But the fact was he never gave up, kept pushing harder and harder for his place in the Mumbai side, and at-last when the chance came, it came with a fortune.
The biggest feather in his cap came when he was the highest wicket taker in the CL T20 2013 with 12 wickets from 5 matches at an economy rate of 4.10 which shows how supreme he has been during the tournament showing and proving people time and again, age is just a number it all depends on how you feel about yourself and contribute to the maximum of your abilities.
