Pakistan vs South Africa Day 3 : stumps

At the end of the third day, Pakistan looks well ahead of South Africa, and it would be surprising if Pakistan will not win the test now.

Pakistan started the 3rd day strongly. Despite the fall of centurian Manzoor earlier in the day, Misbah and Shafiq stiched together a strong partnership of 82. While Misbah went on to make a century, Shafiq fell for 54.

The lower middle order did not provide much resistance, and the South African bowlers made short work of it. Pakistan’s innings was wrapped up for 442, with a lead of 180 runs.

South Africa started off strongly. Just when a small partnership was building up, Irfan took the wicket of Peterson. Since then, it was somewhat a downhill for the South African batsmen. Smith, Amla and Kallis, South Africa’s batting mainstays, were all removed by Pakistan’s disciplined bowlers. With ABD on the crease, much will depend as to how he bats tomorrow.

Unless Pakistan made a blunder, it is their match to lose.
