India vs West Indies ODI Series- 3rd ODI - Match Report

West Indies 263/5 (50 ov)
India 266/5 (46.1 ov)
India won by 5 wickets (with 23 balls remaining)

Another easy win for India at the Green Park, Kanpur, as India won the series decider. 263 on the board would never have been enough to test India’s strong batting line-up, and all the more when you hav eone of your openers in the form of Shikhar Dhawar striking a fluent century.Yuvraj Singh’s half century was a welcome innings which hopefully will get him back to form. Overall it was a job well done by the Indians.

Turning Point- Dismissal of Marlon Samuels during the West Indies batting led to a period of abysmal batting display, which saw a regular fall of wickets and drying of runs. Otherwise West Indies may have well been on course for a 290+ score, which could have made the game more competitive.

Outstanding Performances- Nice batting effort by the West Indies batsmen, with Samuels, Powell, Darren Bravo and Sammy coming to the party. For the Indians the Dhawan-Yuvraj partnership was the highlight of the day.

Disappointing Performances- Another disappointing show by the Indian bowlers at the very death, leaking runs to Sammy and Bravo. Also a poor middle-order batting display, with the West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo being terribly out of form with the bat.

Man-of-The-Match & Series- Undisputedly it had to be Shikhar Dhawan for his 95 ball 119, which made the chase look so easy in the end. The Man of the Series went to Virat Kohli, who has been having a terrific run of rich form of late, adding stability to the no.3 slot for India
