The Best EPL transfer this season?

The Best EPL transfer this season?

Ozil, Fernandinho, Willian, Felliani and Lamela – names worth over 180 million euros in the world of English football. If only money could buy talent, teams like Manchester City and Chelsea would be world beaters by now.
It takes more than the price of a player to indicate his calibre. There are numerous examples of over priced players not living up to their billing. Take the example of Torres at Chelsea, Shevchenko to Chelsea, Robinho to Manchester City and Kaka to Madrid.
Money does not get you talent, an eye for talent does. Lets take a closer look at the big money transfers in the EPL this season.
Fernandinho – 14 games with 2 goals and 2 assists. Look at his team – Manchester City – did they need a midfielder? With Tourey and Navas in the side, they did not. Sometimes you wonder why do some clubs make signings – to fill in positions or sell shirts!
Willian – 7 matches, 1 goal, Age 25 a Brazilian talent being wasted in a midfield that was already strong - Chelsea. You do expect Mourinho to waste talent – Kaka an example at Madrid. Let us hope that Willian does not go the same way.
Lamela , an excellent Argentian midfield, had a gem of a season at Roma last year. But why would he choose a team like Tottenham is what surprises me. He is still 21 and playing in a midfield with experienced pros would have been much better for him.
Feliani – the less said about him the better. Every United supported would agree that there has not been a signing worse than this for quite some time at Old Trafford. He looks out of place playing at the centre of the Red Devils midfield.
This leaves us to one German and One Frenchman, Mesut Ozil and Arsene Wenger. One is the talent and the other is the one with an eye for talent.
Wenger is the man who created the Unbeatable gunners side years ago. He was the man who brought Fabregas to Arsenal before Barcelona snatched him. He was the man who brought Rosicsky, Giroud and Wilshere to the gunners.
When Arsene Wenger invests his money in a player, you can be certain he is sure of what he is doing.
Ozil is the latest example – 13 games, 4 goals and 7 assists. Numbers are impressive for a midfielder, you would agree.
Arsenal was already a great side but they somehow lacked that spark in midfield. Mesut Ozil provides just that. He is a low profile, silent operator ; someone that blends in with the Gunners culture. His German teammates at Arsenal have made his transition smooth and made him feel at home.
What is more impressive is the confidence he has brought to his Arsenal teammates. How his signing has made the dressing room believe that instead of top 5 contender, Arsenal can be the champions this season. The side has shown that – in the EPL and in the Champions League, that they now believe they can.
When you spend 50 million dollars on a player, you expect him to do much more than pass the ball around and score some goals. Presently Ozil, the best signing in the EPL this season,is doing that much more.
