New Zealand vs West Indies 2st ODI 29th Dec - MATCH PREVIEW

New Zealand vs West Indies 2st ODI 29th Dec - MATCH PREVIEW

The 2nd ODI between the Kiwis and Windies on the 29th of December in Napier, is expected to be another cracker of a match, just like the 1st ODI, which went right down to the wire. The 1st ODI saw a resurgent West Indies bowling attack, with Bravo, Holder and Rampaul coming to the party. Their batting display however seemed to continue to be in poor shape, as was displayed in the 3 match Test Series, preceding the ODI series. Except for a 27 ball 43 cameo from Darren Sammy at the very end, there was nothing much to boast of from the batting department for the visitors.
The batting conditions in Napier are expected to be slightly better than the one on offer in Auckland, and hence we can expect a decent scoring affair, this time round. The absence of Darren Bravo, who returned home, citing personal reasons, would weaken the West Indies batting line-up. In-form batsmen, Darren Sammy could look to come up the order, to add some much-needed stability to the middle order.
However, all said and done, a scare of rain exists over the next couple of days, and weather pundits predict some rain during the game, which could mean a curtailed affair at Napier. Such a thing would indeed favour the West Indies, who are more adept at facing the T-20 format. Also the toss could come in crucial for the game.

Players to look out for:-
New Zealand -> Bredon Mcculum, Mitchell McClenaghan
West Indies -> Dwayne Bravo, Ravi Rampaul, Darren Sammy
Look-out factor -> Rain threat and D/L method coming into play
Prediction -> Comfortable win for New Zealand
