Moyes wins his first trophy, dedicates it to Sir Alex

Manchester United will start the league on a high. So will David Moyes. Manchester United beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 thanks to a brace by Robin Van Persie. That led to David Moyes lifting his first trophy in his first competitive match as the manager of Manchester United. But, David Moyes, well known for his humility, dedicated the trophy to the former manager, Sir Alex Ferguson. David Moyes was quick to point out, “The only way you get to the Charity Shield is by winning the league or the FA Cup, so Sir Alex’s team did that last year and the ones from now on will be hopefully for me to win." Also, the new boss was all praises for Persie, the man of the match. United’s attention now turn to the start of the Barclays Premier League and next Saturday’s trip to Swansea City, which Moyes is more than ready for. This might be the start of another glorious era at Manchester United or it might just be the breaking point. Even Ferguson struggled in his initial years. So, lets just give him some time. Championships will soon follow.
