Top 5 Premier League young players to watch out for this season.

Here are the top 5 U-21 players who look promising in the Premier League.

1. Adnan Januzaj
This lad is one kind of a gem. Better known as the ‘New Baby Faced Assassin’. With only 18 years of age, Adnan has still alot to prove to this footballing world. He is much known for his performances in which he gave Utd 3 vital points, scoring 2 goals and hence helping Utd win 2-1 over Sunderland. Shortly after that, he signed a 5 year deal contract extension which ensured that he won’t be moving away to any club. PSG were said to be interested in the Belgian, but sadly now that he has signed a contract, they can just simply forget about him. Reports claim that big countries like England, Serbia, Belgium, Turkey are after Januzaj. It is said that his ancestors were nomads and hence so many countries are after him. He personally prefers to play for Albania. All that we know is that this wonderkid has a bright future and shows signs of great success with Utd.

2. Phillipe Coutinho
30th January 2013 was the day when Phillipe Coutinho signed from Inter Milan to Liverpool for a fee of 8.5M. And from that day on, he has never let his fans down. Some talent this Coutinho, he is a prototypical Brazilian number 10 with lots of trickery, vision, pace and an eye for goal. Pochettino, the current Southampton manager was looking to sign Coutinho but sadly he couldn’t. Pochettino compares Coutinho to that of Messi and Ronaldinho, and is highly praised by fellow Liverpool players. Coutinho took no time in adapting life at Liverpool, wearing the number 10 jersey, he made sure that goals and assists keep coming in for Liverpool. He has been out with an injury recently, and he is expected to return when Liverpool take on Arsenal. It is sheer joy to watch Coutinho play, and everyone would be looking forward to see him play against Arsenal.

3. Ross Barkley
Many of the football fans might not know him properly yet, but do believe me, Barkley has a very bright future lying ahead. Being 19 years old, he is already a regular starter for Everton. His left foot is magical. Quick runs, brilliant first touch can be seen from Barkley. He has been impressive since the Premier League has kicked off. His first goal came against Norwich City which ended with a scoreline of 2-2. He was praised for his performances and was awarded as the Man of the Match. Though born in Liverpool, Barkley plays for Everton and looks forward to play in the Merseyside Derby. Many might say that Januzaj is more reliable than Barkley, well its not that, both play great football and both of them have a brilliant future ahead. CaughtOffSide and GiveMeFootball believe that Chelsea are set to launch a 20M bid for Everton starlet Ross Barkley. Wonder why they even need him, afterall they have such a brilliant midfield. Ross looks to concentrate on his life at Everton and won’t stop to silence his critics.

4. Luke Shaw
Standing 6’1 tall and already a starlet in the England U-21, Luke Shaw has some potential to impress big clubs. Already being compared to Gareth Bale and being just 18, he is one talent to look out for. It is said that Bale and Shaw both have similar style of play. With focus being placed on Shaw’s speed, defending skills and decision making. West Ham United legend Trevor Brooking labels Luke Shaw as a ‘Technically Gifted Player’. He came under the spotlight in 2012, having played quite well against all the big names such as Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, but still had room for alot of improvement. And this season Shaw has returned with a whole new character. Southampton are already high flying with sitting 5th on the table, and some of the credit has to go to Luke Shaw for his brilliant attacking and clever defending. Rumor mill has it that Manchester United lead the race to sign the Englishman as a replacement for Patrice Evra, but Express claim that he is ready to decline Utd’s offer to join Chelsea. He is currently running in brilliant form and looks to bring in lots of points at the St.Marys stadium.

5. Romelu Lukaku
Even by mistake, do not under rate this 20 year old lad. Having joined English club Chelsea for €20 million from Anderlecht, The Blues have rather taken this player lightly. He can tear any team apart. Having scored 17 goals in 35 games when away on loan for West Brom, he outscored all of his Chelsea players in the Premier League that season, and finished as the sixth highest goalscorer of 2012-2013. After having a great spell at WBA, he returned to Chelsea and did play 2 league games at the beginning of the 2013-2014 season. He also did come on as a substitute in the 2013 Uefa Super Cup and sadly missed the deciding penalty as Chelsea lost to Bayern Munich. This resulted in lots of boo’s from the fans and also negative support from them. Eventually he signed for Everton on the Transfer Deadline Day. And since then he has been their main man. Scoring 5 goals in 5 appearances, and with being 20 years of age, he can prove alot to all the Chelsea fans as well as Jose Mourinho. Lukaku looks to play a crucial part in Everton’s success this season and won’t let them down at any cost.
