Pros
Generates lot of buzz and enthusiasm
Players get value for their worth and performances
Helps spread cricketers of all cultures and regions in the same squad
TRP obtained by channels is very good for the Auction

Cons
Often good promising players get unsold, while those fetching huge bucks, hardly perform consequently
Brings down players to the level of highly paid slaves
Players may have to represent teams they personally do not want to represent, just because they have made the highest bid
