The Contenders of T20 world cup 2014:

After the long cricket season which consisted of many test matches and ODIs, the time has come for the most entertaining, exciting and most watched form of cricket, T20 to play its part.
The ICC T20 world cup 2014 is going to kick start from March 17 onwards in Bangladesh.

For the first time ever 16 teams are going to take part in the tournament including all 10 full time ICC members and 6 associate members.
Now the time has come to make some predictions on which team is going to win the cup and which team is going to bring some surprises.
The main contenders for the T20 world cup 2014 are India, Australia and West Indies.

Even though Australia were the favourite for few T20 world cups before they had not won a single T20 world cup. But the present Australian team is looking solid on paper as well as on field which includes some astonishing T20 players like Finch, Watson at the top of the order and then the likes of Maxwell, Bailey and white in the middle order. The bowling department also looks pretty decent which Faulkner, Mackay and Johnson. With the form Johnson is in now, he can be devastating even in the sub continent pitches.

West Indies, the defending champions, are always the favourite for this shorter version of cricket. Everyone knows that this team cannot be taken lightly in this format. This format suits them better than any other format of cricket. Even the results and statistics also back up the statement.  The West Indian team includes some big guns like Gayle, bravo brothers, Samuels, Sammy and pollard who can fire with their hard hitting skills and can clear the boundary by miles. They also had a trump card in the name of Narine, who is by far one of the successful T20 bowlers in the world.  All they had to do is to utilize their resources fully and play as a team.

Even though Indian team is outplayed by many teams so far in this season, they are still one of the strong contenders. India is still a strong ODI and T20 team. The very fact that the tournament is held in the sub continent is a major positive for them. The team has this young flavour in them and also the zeal to perform. The team has many players who can take away the match from opponents single handedly.  Kohli, the man who always scores irrespective of format of game and Dhoni, known as one of the best finisher had a big role to play. The team also includes many talented young players like Dhawan, Bhuvaneswar, Rohit etc.  For team India it all depends on how they are going to come out of their recent debacles.
Besides this you cannot write off the other sub continent teams Srilanka, Pakistan easily. Pakistan is a very dangerous team and every other team should be conscious about them.

Get ready for some T20 extravaganza..!!!
