Vijay Mallya needs prayers to win an IPL

A few days back I read somewhere – “The expression on your face conditions to a significant degree your state of mind.” In the case of a cricket player, say a bowler, it affects his mind leading to a stiff body if he shows anger and shouts on the field after being hit for a six and gets hit for more runs. In case of a captain, say Dhoni, it helps his team keep calm even when someone like a Glenn Maxwell is hitting sixes at will. This time around keeping a calm face hasn’t helped Dhoni. His team may have succeeded to book a seat in the playoffs but CSK have looked below par in their last 3 games which they have lost badly. They now play a match which in true sense has no significance but if we look at it for the spot of 2nd Qualifier, it`s going to be a thrilling encounter.

Chennai Super Kings take on Royal Challengers Bangalore today. Let us look at the events that can happen with both the results of the match. If CSK loses, RCB gets to 12 points and CSK remain at 16 points with a drop in the net run rate. Just after their match KKR take on SRH, and in the event of KKR winning the match, KKR qualify as second in the playoffs and will get two chances to enter the FINAL. Even if KKR lose that match, NET RUN RATE becomes the master who decides their fate.

If CSK wins, CSK get to 18 points. Next, if KKR win their match against SRH then again Mr NET RUN RATE becomes the master who decides their fate. In all, we are not yet sure of the second qualifier in this year`s IPL.

As written previously, CSK vs RCB match creates a lot of rift between the fans of both the teams. Expect the same to happen again as this time the match is going to be played in Bangalore. RCB fans will throng the stadium expecting their team to fire and entertain them in their last encounter. Their team has disappointed them this year. The team which looked like winner on paper has not even qualified for the playoffs. Chris Gayle or rather call him Chris Fail, has failed badly. If I would be the captain of RCB I would drop Chris ‘Fail’ and give a chance to some other player. There are many players who are warming the bench for RCB. If a domestic player can be dropped for his performance so should an international player especially when it’s the “INDIAN” Premier league.

From CSK`s point of view, CSK needs to play the team they have played all throughout the tournament. They need to get back into the winning ways before the playoffs and we all know how difficult they are to beat in playoffs. There hasn’t been a year in which they haven’t qualified for the playoffs. Being a KKR fan, I am personally looking forward to an AB and Kohli special in their last match. Also, it`s time for Vijay Mallya to introspect to realize that it is not just big players who will win him the match but also the PRAYERS of the people he has not paid.

PREDICTION: RCB winning this match.
