Question.

Worst XI of IPL 7

IPL 2014 was won by Kolkata Knight Riders in an emphatic style. They are the second team after Chennai Super Kings to win IPL for the second time. At the end of a long tournament everyone looks forward to picking the best XI, the players who were the best in the tournament. But here we are picking the worst XI, one of the toughest jobs to do.

Let us first pick the batsmen. The openers are easy to pick in Murali Vijay and Chris Gayle. Both of them troubled their teams a lot. They were never able to give a good start to their teams and were Non-Performing Assets of their teams. Next in the line-up would be Aaron Finch. Finch looked in touch in a few matches but could never help his team win a match. In Fact he took Warner`s position to open the innings as well. The middle order has two ferocious hitters in Shane Watson and Yuvraj Singh. Shane Watson took a hat trick in IPL 2014 but necer really performed with bat scoring just one fifty in the entire tournament. He also is responsible for his team`s ouster from the IPL. Yuvraj Singh was again the star of the tournament which twinkled for a while and on most occasions helped other teams win the matches apart from two innings where he hit a blistering knock thanks to some six hitting he show cased. Roger Binny has been proudly picked for the lower middle order with not many contenders giving him a fight.

Next in the All-rounder department is Irfan Pathan. Pathan never looked threatening with his bowling in the entire tournament. The bowling department will be spearheaded by SRH`s Dale Steyn. The bowler uttered more mouthfuls than the no of yorkers he bowled in the entire tournament, he was badly hit by batsmen specially AB Devilliers and Yusuf Pathan. People worried about how is SRH gonna treat this world`s best bowler, but it was the other way round. Steyn was badly treated by the batsmen from all over the world. Next is the ever green Ashok Dinda. I think the name speaks for himself. He is always touted for showing a great performance after the way he performs in the domestic circuit.

Finally, in the tail enders we have Amit Mishra and Mohammad Shami. Mishra was one of the star bowlers who took India to the finals of T20 world cup this year. But this year, he was hit all over the park in UAE as well as India. Shami was picked by Dare devils this year and he proudly gave away runs and helped DD come the last team in this year`s IPL. So according to me, this is the worst team of this year`s IPL.

Murali Vijay
Chris Gayle
Aaron Finch
Shane Watson (captain)
Yuvraj Singh
Roger Binny
Irfan Pathan
Dale steyn
Ashok Dinda
Amit Mishra
Mohammad Shami
