Will-I-an !!!

Will-I-an !!!

Football is a crazy game. If you have been tracking the transfer dealing of William you would agree with me too.  Willian joined Anzhi Makhachkala in January for a reported £30m after five-and-a-half seasons with Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. But he became available as the Russian club attempt to cut costs after a change in strategy by their owner.

After being put up for sale in the transfer market, it was not surprising to see a club from Merseyside, Liverpool enquiring about him. They tabled a good amount for him. Anzhi were happy to see the cash and Liverpool were confident that they would strike a deal with Willian after being snubbed by Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa.

In comes Tottenham Hotspurs who are looking to buy some big names. They know what Bale would fetch and are already in the market buying players with the expected future cash inflow. Tottenham somehow manage to convince him. Willian changes his decision. He flies to London to have a medical with Spurs. Medical is conducted successfully. Newspapers were all about the next Tottenham signing and how he will make them genuine title contenders.

A few moments later, in the other part of the city, new Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claims in the press conference that Willian has agreed to join Chelsea. They have won the race to sign the Brazilian international. Apparently Willian had a change of heart again. Tottenham express outrage with Daniel Levy, the Tottenham chairman saying that Chelsea moved for him purely to prevent Villas-Boas from constructing a squad to challenge them in the Premier League this season. Mourinho meanwhile had the following advice for Spurs "That’s the danger of medicals before contracts. The best thing you can do is do the medical in secret."

Hopefully this time though he would finally put his signature on the paper.
