Tennis Round Up : 9th October

The second round of the Shanghai Masters was a cake walk for most of the top seeds. Djokovic was especially ruthless, dispatching Granollers 6-2 6-0 today.

Roger Federer was far from his best, but did manage to overcome the Italian Andreas Seppi in straight sets. The new world no 1 Rafael Nadal overcame unorthodox Alexander Dogopolov.

Other seeds like Del-Potro, Nishikori, Raonic and Wawrinka were made to sweat by their opponents. The only possible upsets were that of John Isner under the hands of Berlocq, and Tommy Robredo had to retire from a winning position due to a wrist injury.

Meanwhile David Ferrer, who moved to third round with a comfortable straight sets victory over Lukas Rosol, will reach his career high ranking of 3, after Andy Murray could not defend his points.
