Dawning of new kits is environment friendly, men in blue go green!

On the eve of the home series against Australia, BCCI unveiled new kits for the men in blue, which they would sport from T20 match against Australia on Thursday at Rajkot.
The brand new tri-colour laden outfit, designed by Nike, which is BCCI’s official apparel partner is made out of 100 percent polyester fabric. The jersey has been tailor made to conform to an athletes body using 3D body mapping of the world’s top athletes. The use of polyester ,which was unprecedented when it came to making Indian jerseys, has made the outfit lighter and stretchable which is ideal to compliment an athlete’s mobility especially for a high intensity sport like cricket.
Another remarkable feature is that the player’s inputs have been used to design their outfits."It is team India’s jersey,so we always feel proud to wear it”,said Ravindra Jadeja. But we can only imagine the boost the players would get out of wearing something which has been a result of their ideas."The blue in the jersey has been a favorable association & hence always enhanced out performance’’ said captain MS Dhoni.
The use of polyester, which is recycled from plastic bottles also lends a propaganda to the environment friendly aspect. This positive steps truly signals the dawning of a new era.
