Is the roar of the V6 engines no more a music for a Formula 1 lover...???

Formula 1 is the highest class of single seated racing competition of the world where in best of the best four wheeler manufacturers of the world flaunt their automobile technology which they have mastered and try to prove that they are the best in the business. Major players include Ferrari’s, Mercedes, Mc Larne’s, Red bulls and Renault’s etc. It is the ultimate extravaganza for a racing fan.

From the past 4 years it’s the team Red bull which is dominating all the way from qualifying up to the races. Red bull have been able to build a superb car which is capable of beating any other car manufactured by its competitors within the ruling per view of the FIA. Other teams are trying hard to catch up with Red bulls but are failing to come up with a competitive car along with this they are also unable to form a racing strategy which would give them a chance to beat the Red bulls. The credit for all this success of Red bull should go to its team principal Justin Horner who has built a team which is strong both in terms of racing strategy along with the engineering of the car. Adding to a great car Sebastian Vettel has emerged as the new Champion by proving his potential as a racing driver who now is the leading name in the F1 circuit where he is able to take the car along with him to be the Champions fourth time in a row.

Unfortunately this dominance of Red bull has made F1 lose a lot of viewers along with the charm in the race itself. It is a one horse race from beginning to the end unlike the olden times where in there was enough competitions both on and off the circuit which made the racing very much entertaining and also exciting. From the year 2010 if you see the races Vettel is dominating all the way from Friday evenings up to the chequered flag in the entire season. Only twice i.e. in the years 2010 and 2012, Alonso was able to give some sort of competition but with a better car and aerodynamics it was an impossible job even for the best driver in the race the two time world champion to catch Vettel. Other teams are trying their best to give some competition but they always end up catching Red bulls. This has made the entire F1 season monopolist where in there is no excitement for the fans to view the races. If you look at the tickets sales for the last season there was a drastic decrease in the later part of the season as the championship was already decided even before the completion of the third quarter of the championship. This has resulted in loss of fans which is a very dangerous signal for the survival of the sport itself.

Other competitive teams were happy with the result of current year preseason Jerez testing as the performance of the new V6 engines were quite impressive which might be a motivation for the entire 2014 season. With a new year and a new set of rules in place let’s hope that we would be able to witness the best season of formula 1 ever.
