Will Ashley Cole ever wear a three lion jersey…???

Ashley Cole is an English Football player who is one of the top left-backs currently playing in the world. He began his carrier with Arsenal before moving to Crystal Palace on loan. He again returned back to the Gunners camp in 2000-01. He was so immensely talented that he was chosen into the England senior team after just four appearances for the Under-21s. With his impressive performance he booked himself a place in the team for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea. His brilliance was put into exhibit at the Euro 2004 wherein he played as a perfect left back. He was voted into the All-Star Squad for Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup in Germany. With his 86th cap against Montenegro in October 2010 Cole became the England’s most-capped full-back in history, an achievement which helped him pick up the England Player of the Year award for 2010, as voted for by fans. Along with a great performance for the national side he also won two Premier League titles and three FA Cups with Arsenal before moving to Chelsea in search of more success. He has won “The FA Cup “five times with the Blues, which makes him a record holder of eight cup wins overall. He has also won a premier league and Champions League with the blues. This will show the calibre of Cole as a left back. Even with a great performance by Cole and a decent English team which was a mix of both experienced and young members they failed to reach last 4 for the past two world cups. Roy Hodgson who is currently the Manager of the English team in charge for the world cup has decided to go for a younger team. For the current world cup which will be held in Brazil this year Roy Hodgson prefers Leighton Baines over Cole. This has decreased the chances of Cole for a further call up for the national team. Roy Hodgson feels that England is full of young talent with a lot of young players in the bench. He believes in young talent than an experienced players as the playing style of the current generation has changed from the previous ones. Even though the Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has come out and supported Cole by backing him for the England world cup squad it is unlikely that Cole will be picked as Roy Hodgson has hinted the inclusion of the young Southampton star Luke Shaw. With Cole not starting regularly for Chelsea in the recent seasons has created a doubt in the three lion’s manager. He has come out and said that Ashley Cole has maximum number of caps for England as a left back. Even with this ability he is not been able to make a regular start for Chelsea which means that there is a bit of problem out there. He has also outspoken to the public saying “Four people, have been understudy to Ashley. Now its Ashley’s turn to sit back. Kyle Walker and Leighton Baines are also top class players and have played plenty of games”. These are very strong statements coming out from the man himself who is responsible for building a team which is capable of winning a world cup for England. If Cole will not be able to be in his list now for the mother of all tournaments then he might never be in it any more in the future.
