MATCH REPORT SRH VS FW

THE ONE, THE TWO and the much-hyped Faisalabad Wolves are out of the CLT20 qualifying race. The much-hyped Pakistan’s premier T20 team is out of the contention after they were thrashed by Sunrisers by 7 wickets with 15 balls to spare. The team, comprising of Misbah and Ajmal - the two known names and well-performing players - failed to live upto the expectations.

Put to bat first on the Mohali pitch, FW were off to a good start until spin was introduced in the form of Mishra, who showed his importance right away when he picked Ali. In the next over, the other leggie Karan Sharma picked up Asif much in contrast to the previous game where the two leggies bowled 1 over between them. Laughing Buddha Sammy struck in the 12th over and soon the Wolves looked like their national team, failing to hold fort. Earlier Steyn and Ishant had a good spell with Steyn back to his old ways - lean and mean.

Misbah, the lone warrior struck some mighty bowls towards the end against the lackluster Perera, who was off target again. Mishra was effective again with 1 /13 from 4 and Karan Sharma 11 from 2. Wolves ended with 127, a below par score.

Sunrisers started off in a style with both Dhawan and Parthiv striking gold. They took off from where they left off the other day. Parthiv fell in the 9th over when he pulled straight to Khurram. Duminy supported Dhawan who was at his very best again, striking on the up. He was very severe on the left arm Imran and eventually fell for his skidder. Biplab lasted two balls and then a few butterfly moments seeped into the camp. Sammy jumped in and finished off with hatrick of boundaries and game was over in a blink.

The win means Sunrisers are in and Wolves out, a premature exit after all the hullabaloo regarding their visas.

The game would be remembered for Dhawan’s dominance and Misbah’s helplessness.
