STAR India the new sponsers for Team India

STAR India bagged the sponsership rights for Team India, after they outbid the long-time sponsers Sahara.

In the current contract, Sahara is paying around Rs 3.34 crore for every international match. Their contract ends on December 31 this year. The base price for every match is Rs 1.5 crore and Rs 60 lakh for ICC and Asian Cricket Council events. The Star group will be paying about Rs 1.92 crore per match for all BCCI, ACC and ICC events.

The sponsorship is for more than three years with the deal commencing from January 1st 2014 till March 31st 2017.
